Honoring Capt. Thomas J. Hudner '43
Members of the military and the PA community came together in Bath, Maine on April 12 to honor the Korean War's last surviving Medal of Honor recipient, Captain Thomas J. Hudner Jr. '43. Prior to a luncheon held in his honor at the Maine Maritime Museum, Hudner visited with the workers at Bath Iron Works who are currently building a naval destroyer that will be named the USS Thomas Hudner. Among those in attendance at the luncheon was Pamela Brown Knight, daughter of Ensign Jesse Brown, who's life Hudner attempted to save by crash landing his own plane while under fire. More details about Hudner's heroics can be found in this article in the Bangor Daily News-- http://bit.ly/100EV4O. (Photos by Gil Talbot)Read More
