Andy the Mascot
Despite being a dog, Andy (shown here with the PA athletic council in the early 1900's), wrote an erudite account in the 1902 Mirror about his experience as a PA mascot. In the story, entitled "Andy Soliloquizes," the canine author makes a dig at his fellow mascot, Peter Dugan. Recalling a time he had been been led around by little Dugan with a chain, he growled “if it had not been for looks I should not have suffered this indignity.“
