Homo naledi 3D printing (Human Origins 2016)
In this fall's multidisciplinary science course Human Origins Claudia Wessner of the OWHL's makerspace helped us create 3D prints of Homo naledi, a new fossil hominin from South Africa. We focused on the femur, since this bone in Homo naledi exhibits some unusual features. This is the first time scientists have made available 3D data for an early human fossil!
